Points East Journal
The East FHS will publish ‘East Family’ related articles written & submitted by members as a small journal each year and via the website. The ‘Points East’ journal is published as a pdf to all members, to the Society of Genealogists and to our contact Larry Duke, editor of ‘Estes Trails’ in the US. It is published at least once per year in Spring, Autumn or both (dependent on the number of articles recieved). All future contributions need to be received by the 1st February for the Spring edition and 1st August for the Autumn edition. Distribution of paper copies to members not on email and to those who have requested them will be carried out shortly after the pdf issue. A paper copy of the journal is also sent to the British Library.
Please keep sending in your articles for publication - more articles are always well received - but do bear in mind copyright law. We cannot publish any picture or writing that is copyright without permission. Send us family pictures, research successes, tree excerpts, bits of found information or family stories that will give variety to Points East. Large or small items - all are welcome. If you have any suggestions to improve it please do let us know. Material will be held over for a future issue if it cannot be included in the current one.
Please consider some tasks to do if you get stuck with your own tree, such as visiting a local or further afield personal history site or investigating any DNA matches! Amanda, the journal editor, looks forward to a report from you, and any associated pictures or trees, for the next journal.
